• Work on the 20-km Dhaka–Gazipur BRT began after approval in 2012 and has been stuck for about 14 years. Nearly Tk 3,000 crore has been spent, and the cost estimate has more than doubled to Tk 4,268 crore.
• About 97 percent of the civil work is done, but no station is finished. The government is weighing four options: finish it, run buses on it, make it a toll expressway, or demolish it for a six-lane road.
• The options have gone to the prime minister and will go to the cabinet. The road transport minister says support for cancelling is strong, but nothing is decided.

• ২০১২ সালে অনুমোদনের পর ঢাকা–গাজীপুর ২০ কিলোমিটার বিআরটি প্রকল্পের কাজ প্রায় ১৪ বছর ধরে আটকে আছে। খরচ হয়েছে প্রায় ৩ হাজার কোটি টাকা। প্রাক্কলিত ব্যয় দ্বিগুণের বেশি বেড়ে দাঁড়িয়েছে ৪ হাজার ২৬৮ কোটি টাকায়।
• অবকাঠামোর প্রায় ৯৭ শতাংশ কাজ শেষ, কিন্তু একটি স্টেশনও পুরো হয়নি। সরকার এখন চারটি পথ ভাবছে: প্রকল্প শেষ করা, বিদ্যমান কাঠামোয় বাস চালানো, টোল এক্সপ্রেসওয়ে করা, অথবা ভেঙে ছয় লেনের সড়ক বানানো।
• বিকল্পগুলো প্রধানমন্ত্রীর কাছে উপস্থাপন করা হয়েছে, এবার মন্ত্রিসভায় যাবে। সড়ক পরিবহন মন্ত্রী বলেছেন, বাতিলের পক্ষে জোরালো সমর্থন আছে। তবে সিদ্ধান্ত হয়নি।
