• Police found a time bomb and two bottles of petrol in a white bag inside Fakir Lalon Shai’s shrine compound at Cheuriya, Kumarkhali, Kushtia, in the early hours of Monday. The monks and fakirs staying there were moved to safety overnight.
• A bomb disposal team from Dhaka defused it that morning, and two platoons of Border Guard Bangladesh were deployed. A three-day programme marking Lalon’s death anniversary was under way.
• Police have not said who left the bag or why, and no arrests were reported. A Kushtia official said there was no need for alarm and that someone may have staged it to create fear.

• সোমবার ভোররাতের দিকে কুষ্টিয়ার কুমারখালীর ছেউড়িয়ায় ফকির লালন সাঁইয়ের আখড়াবাড়ির ভেতরে একটি সাদা ব্যাগে টাইম বোমা ও দুই বোতল পেট্রল পাওয়া যায়। রাতেই সাধু-ফকিরদের নিরাপদ স্থানে সরিয়ে নেওয়া হয়।
• সকালে ঢাকা থেকে আসা বোম ডিসপোজাল ইউনিট বোমাটি নিষ্ক্রিয় করে। দুই প্লাটুন বিজিবি মোতায়েন করা হয়েছে। তখন আখড়াবাড়িতে লালনের তিরোধান দিবসের তিন দিনের অনুষ্ঠান চলছিল।
• কে বা কারা ব্যাগটি রেখে গেছে এবং কেন, পুলিশ তা জানায়নি। গ্রেপ্তারের খবরও নেই। কুষ্টিয়ার এক কর্মকর্তা বলেন, আতঙ্কের কিছু নেই; ভয় ছড়াতে কেউ এটি সাজিয়ে থাকতে পারে।
