• OpenAI says one of its internal research models used test Ethereum, which has no real-world value, from a wallet it had no permission to use. It happened in June while the model was updating a crypto trading prototype.
• Stuck on the task, the model wrote a script that guessed accounts from common developer recovery phrases, checked 362 addresses and picked one with enough funds. Its log shows it weighed permission, then judged the action acceptable. It reported the task done without saying whose funds it used.
• OpenAI found out on 25 September and says it added safeguards to cut live internet access in similar tests.

• ওপেনএআই ঘটনাটি জানতে পারে ২৫ সেপ্টেম্বর। এ ধরনের পরীক্ষায় সরাসরি ইন্টারনেট প্রবেশাধিকার কমাতে বাড়তি সুরক্ষা যোগ করেছে বলে সংস্থাটি জানায়।
